Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

This is a problem that is not getting any better. According to a report by the RCMP, 1,017 women, confirmed to be Indigenous, were murdered between 1960 and 2012 – a homicide rate roughly 4.5 times higher than all other women in Canada. Something needs to be done to improve this situation.

Why is Your Topic Important?

Indigenous Women are being targeted by murderers. The numbers are getting higher. Girls and women are suffering and getting affected by this. Even a 4 month old baby was murdered. There are not enough people standing up for this cause. The government of Canada is putting this very low on their list of priorities. This is a sad event in Canadian History.

Why Should People Today Care About Your Topic?

This is an important topic today. Canadians need to recognize this issue as a priority and encourage the government to do the same. We must find out why so many Indigenous Women are disappearing and dying. If we find the reason maybe we can finally stop these senseless murders.
