THE FEBRUARY 24th WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE WEATHER. THE FEBRUARY 26 WORKSHOP WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED.Approximately 50 Kingston and area grade 6-8 students are expected to participate in two special Claymation video production workshops taking place at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning on February 24 from 1 – 3 p.m. and 26, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. These workshops are being hosted for students as a collaborative effort between the Kingston Canadian Film Festival and the Kingston Regional Heritage Fair through a special grant from the City of Kingston Sesquicentennial Heritage Fund.   Facilitated by Kathy Shultz, an award winning film and television director, these two hour workshops will encourage students to explore the world of stop-motion Claymation by developing characters, scenery, and props in plasticine.   Students will be introduced to a range of techniques for capturing their sculptural subjects using readily accessible technology such as tablets and digital cameras.   All of the completed films will debut on the big screen at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival as part of the ‘C is for Canada’ screening, which features professional children’s films by some of Canada’s most creative film talent.   They will also be showcased during the closing ceremony of the Kingston Regional Heritage Fair held at McArthur Hall, Queen’s University, May 12, 2016.  The 2016 Kingston Regional Heritage Fair will be open to the public, and more information can be found at www.krhf.ca.   For more information about the Claymation event please contact: info@krhf.ca
